Languages

Choose a specific language, ready-made mixtures or mix your own cocktail.

If you want purely one language be sure to uncheck all other languages, including multi, neutral and abstract. Selecting multi, neutral or abstract in addition to a specific language results in a mix of a readymade mix and a specific language.

The ready-made mixes are:

multi This is an inclusive mix of all languages that use the latin alphabet. It includes all accented characters. Use this for a rich text with a lot of variation.

neutral If in doubt, use this mixture. It inludes only characters present in at least four of the languages. Therefore accented letters are almost extinguished but some language-specific combinations still shine through.

abstract This goes one step further and contains only combinations present in most languages, giving the text an unspecific appearance.

The directly accessible languages are:

Characters

Choose all for a text based on an unfiltered character base.

Alternatively, enter your own characters. The shortcuts quickly enter whole alphabets.

If you need to boost individual characters enter them multiple times, which increases their frequency.

Kern Pairs

This allows you to suppress or boost kerning pairs. typical provides an extensive built-in list which should be suitable for most applications.

Alternatively, enter you own kerning pairs. These must be separated by a space or tab. This feature is also useful for testing ligatures.

Use [-] to suppress kerning pairs or [+] to boost them or leave it in the middle for untweaked text generation.

Variety

Use this to boost rare letters and pairs.
Choose [0] to switch this feature off or move the selection towards [+] to increase the effect. You will notice the effect if you output the frequency lists of letters and pairs.
